11 Pompa Air di Jl MH Thamrin Ditambah Daya

11 Water Pumps Power on Jalan MH Thamrin Upgraded

Jakarta Dept. of Water Management is about to add the power of 11 water pumps on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta from 500 to 1,000 watts. The effort is aimed to minimize the cause of puddle on that street. Agus Priyono, Head of DKI Waterworks Departement said so, Monday (23/2).

It is impossible to add the pump unit since the inadequate of land. We rent a land in Topas tower for that pump

Agus gave an example, water pump machines in Topas Tower has 2 units with 500 and 1,000 watts capacity. Eventually, pump capacity in the office building will be equated to 1,000 watts.

"It is impossible to add the pump unit since the inadequate of land. We rent a land in Topas tower for that pump," he explained.

City to Manages Flood at 8 Prone Areas

He conveyed, beside Topas Tower, the manager of Jaya building on Jalan MH Thamrin area is also ready to lend the land as a place to load the pump.

Agus is optimistic, adding electrical power of 11 units water pump could be effective freeing the protocol street from the puddle.

Agus revealed, 11 units of water pump on Jalan MH Thamrin this time are spread by 6 units in Jaya building, 2 units in Topas tower, then 3 units in Mapalus building. "11 units should be enough, yet because of rainfall at that time is very high, the pumps were unable to vacuum the rain water," he added.

He continued, the cause of puddle on Jalan MH Thamrin some time ago is because of the rainfall at that time as a nature phenomenon that goes down 1,000 years once with condition of 367 milimeters rainfall. "Rain fall at that time is 367 milimeters that repeated only 1,000 years once. While we designed 11 pumps on MH Thamrin area as 250 milimeters  rainfall," he said.
